I really do miss doing the Comic Pants Podcasts. Getting a group of guys together and sitting around a table and talking about something that we're all passionate about is probably one of the coolest ways to spend an evening.
So I was fairly ecstatic when the guys at Geek Bombast asked me

Marvel Rebooted
Just putting that out there at the very beginning. I have been slacking in the way of reviews lately. For that, I'm sorry guys. But that does not mean that I have been slacking in the writing department completely. In fact, I've been doing quite a bit of it.

Marvel Now! - What Is It and Should You Care?
"It is a coordinated creative refresh across our entire publishing line."
That's according to Editor in Chief of Marvel, Axel Alonso. It's the best definition that I've heard so far. It isn't a relaunch or a reboot, as they are going to be continuing on with the same world that they've been dealing with. Obviously something will change at the end of Avengers vs X-Men, as that would account for some of the costumes being changed in the promotional

The Rundown: Previews July 2012
Every month, Previews is published. The book usually solicits material that will appear either two or three months from the time the book hits shelves. This is by no means a complete listing of what's found in it, as every issue of every comic that's coming out is put into its pages, this is merely a list of titles that caught my eye or made my buy pile. Please tell me the books that you are looking forward to, as my brain is often feeble and there's no way that I can cover all of them. Anyways, enough of this blabber...Onto the List.

If I Ran DC: The DC Relaunch Re-Imagined
Well, as it sometimes happens, on days that are a little slower than others, the guys at the shop start talking about this. One day, a few months back, my friend and co-worker Randy Lander proposed an experiment. A What If, if you will, on what the DC Relaunch would look like if we were the ones behind the editor's desk. There were several caveats: First of all, we had to stay somewhat within reality. By which I mean, we assumed that a lot of folks already had contracts with DC, so almost anyone who had been on books before the relaunch and was still on books after the relaunch, we had to use. Also, we couldn't just grab anybody we wouldn't be able to get. Nobody who's a Marvel exclusive, there was no way Mark Millar was going to work for DC, etc.

Why Haven't there Been Any New Articles Recently?
The answer to that is fairly simple. ARKHAM CITY. Well, that and a crazy few weeks of life, but mainly because I was so engrossed by the expansive, interesting, beautiful, laugh inducing, beat em up fest that this game is. Though it sounds insane, it's the best licensed game that's ever been made, and unlike many other sequels, this one somehow beats the high bar that Arkham Asylum created. Now, with the main game over with and my obsessive need to find all 400 Riddler trophies (which is insane by the way...and I'm sure I've already started cackling), I decided that it was time to go back to comics.
So, without further ado, let's get back to the reviews! Of course, the Nightwing download pack comes out next week, so I better get cracking!
Have you guys been playing it as well? What's the general consensus from you? Best game ever?

DC Comics Relaunch - The List
Well, we've certainly seen quite a few names being thrown around over the last few days, haven't we? DC hasn't announced the creative teams for every single book yet, though at the rate they're going I wouldn't be shocked if by the end of the week that changed. Still, I figured that there were enough confirmed to sit down and talk about how they sound. I know people are saying that DC is merely shuffling chairs on the Titanic, as some of the creative teams aren't that different. I can see why they're saying such things, though I'm certainly willing to give these writers and artists, people who may not have thrilled me in the past, a chance to surprise. I certainly think that is in their wheelhouse.

DC Reboot: Fact, Rumor & Opinion
I think it's safe to say, if you've been on any comics news website or blog, you've seen the announcement that DC Comics will do a reboot of the DCU this coming September. Now I can imagine that this has garnered some reaction from a lot of people. Some good reactions, but from what I've scanned through this evening and earlier today, the majority of people have the gut reaction of, "Oh god, oh god, we're all going to die."
Well, maybe not that visceral, but certainly that it's a good time to stop reading DC Comics.
